Harmonies Across North America
Welcome to Harmonies Across North America: Celebrating Women Composers!
Join award-winning soprano Catherine Thornsley and dynamic pianist and vocal coach Richard Epp at Nebula Performances for an unforgettable musical journey that celebrates the incredible contributions of women composers throughout North America. In honor of International Women’s Day, this recital highlights the powerful voices of women from diverse backgrounds, showcasing their unique and inspiring musical talents.
Prepare to be captivated by the beautiful harmonies and poignant melodies crafted by these composers from across the continent. This program is an exceptional opportunity to not only experience stunning music but also support the work and artistry of women in the world of classical music.
The performance will feature a rich and diverse array of works, including compositions by Jocelyn Morlock, Katerina Gimon, Leslie Uyeda, and Jean Coulthard from British Columbia, Judith Cloud from the United States, and María Grever and Graciela Agudelo from Mexico. These works represent a broad spectrum of styles and cultural influences, celebrating the voices of women composers in all their brilliance.
The inspiration for this program came from Catherine’s deep personal connection to the music of her late voice teacher, Dr. Judith Cloud, whose beautiful compositions will be featured in this recital. Catherine’s heartfelt desire to honor Dr. Cloud’s legacy through performance brings an extra layer of significance to this event.
Don’t miss out on the opportunity to immerse yourself in a celebration of creativity, resilience, and the immense impact of women in music. Be a part of this special occasion, and join us for a performance that promises to inspire, uplift, and move you.
